What do you get when you cross martial arts with camper vans?
Mark Dinning and Nigel Banks are the co-founders of Kickin' Kampers.
Originally Taekwondo buddies, they began converting campervans together in 2013. Initially working on their own vans, they soon found themselves taking on conversions for family and friends. Realising that they could produce high quality conversions and work so well together, Mark and Nigel decided to turn their hobby into a full time business!
In need of a dedicated space, they upgraded from their humble driveways and small garages to a brand new, customised workshop in Nuneaton, and they haven't looked back!
Mark Dinning:
As a fully qualified mechanic with over 25 years in the motor industry, including 15 years on the Vehicle Operations Team at Jaguar Landrover, Mark has worked on film sets, motor shows and photoshoots around the world. Working on vehicles ranging from C Type Jaguars and McLaren F1's to high tech, solar powered racecars, Mark is a real 'devil in the detail' type. His expertise lies in delivering superb finishes to interiors and bodywork, as well as bringing an indepth mechanical and electrical knowledge to every job he works on. With an uncanny ability to solve any problem on 4 wheels, Mark embarked on his own T5 campervan conversion and was immediately hooked on finding creative ways to make the best use of space in his van!
A hater of tents but a lover of the Great Outdoors, Mark uses his campervan almost every weekend to pursue his other passions in life... mountain biking, hiking and the occasional snowboarding trip to the Alps. Mark's van truly is a second home for him!
Nigel Banks:
Nigel is a fully qualified gas service engineer, successfully running his own NHBC registered building company for the last 15 years.
With years of project management experience, Nigel's planning and organisational skills ensure that Kickin' Kampers delivers every van conversion on time and on budget, with a 'can do' approach to each and every project taken on.
Nigel loves nothing more than sitting down with a customer, helping their vision take shape over a nice cup of tea to create their customised van conversion.
A multiple national and world title winning Taekwondo champion, Nigel founded the Nuneaton School of Taekwondo almost 30 years ago. A member of the sports most successful British team of all time, he continues to teach at the school to this day, which is where he met fellow director, Mark Dinning. Nigel loves nothing more than taking the whole family away on relaxing trips around the Great British countryside in their van.
